Title: how to upgrade to 5.6 from 5.0

Hi,
How can I easily upgrade from API 5.0 to API 5.6?
The reason for upgrading is to use the filter feature in 5.6.

Or is there another way where i can use the filter functionality of 5.6 in the existing 5.0 API version?
