Pivot and remote data
« on: January 17, 2018, 10:48:40 pm »
I have a grid with remote data and I want to take advantage of the new Pivot function.  My dataset is large though - 250,000 records and I have paging.  Is there a way I run the grouping remotely so I'm only bringing back the summary data?

If not, would I have to turn off remote paging to load all the first to get an accurate pivot?

1) So you mean grouping remotely and pivoting locally on the same data set on the presumption that it would decrease the load time of data. Sounds great but row grouping doesn't decrease the number of rows and pivot is not tested to work that way currently.

May be if you can share more ideas about that.

2) Yes, the pivot is done on available data, so whole data needs to be loaded into the grid to get accurate pivoting.
